Dinner with friends ~ 28th November 2010
We headed over to our friends’ new place for a spot of food (which was bloody lovely) which included a small amount of alcohol and loads of laughs. A fine way to round off a weekend…

You know it’s Christmas…
…when you start seeing these in the shops.

Day in a tattoo studio, 27th November
I’ve wanted a tattoo since my early teens but I’ve held off for many years because I didn’t want to choose an off the shelf design. I wanted something that was unique and meant something to me.
After lots of thought I decided to go for a family orientated design. I have many family members I wanted to include but due to the amount of space to work with, I had to choose only a few people but want to eventually complete the idea to include more people who are closest to me.
The following photos record the day I got my outline done. Some shot by me, most shot by my lovely wife-to-be, Luisa.

If you’re in the Leeds area and want a top quality tattoo, head over to Inspirations and tell them I sent you.

Morning routine
Recently I’ve been getting into a routine of stopping off at a local coffee shop to warm up on my walk in to work. Whilst it does mean having to spend money every morning when I don’t really need to, it has been beneficial in giving me a bit of time to focus on bits and bobs I usually struggle to find motivation for.
Since I started, I’ve been getting on back into writing for my blog, editing more photos and getting things done for the wedding. I may have to keep this up.

Hi, I’m Sam
I took some shots earlier to update my Movember page and I thought a couple of them were alright so I thought I’d share. The first shot is an outtake which I like purely because of the DOF. The second is the shot I used.

Wander through town
Every morning I take various routes though Halifax town centre. The days when Luisa catches the train from Halifax (which tends to be most), I tend to walk up through The Piece Hall en route to the coffee shop and this morning was no different, except I got out my camera and took a few shots.

Falling in love with 50mm (again)
Okay, that’s not a very accurate title. I’ve always loved my 50mm. After completing Project 50 I wanted to have a bit of a break from using the lens. This also coincided with me getting my hands on a new lens so I was able to see what possibilities there were with it.
The other day I decided to switch back to the nifty fifty and I couldn’t help but smile. I’d missed the crisp sharpness against soft, blown out backgrounds. I was a happy chappy.
I strongly advise lovers of the nifty fifty to put it aside for a month (or however long you can go without it) and then come back to it with a refreshed feeling and fall for it all over again.

Monday morning
Only six Mondays left this year. I started this one with an early hot chocolate then headed to another cafe for a sarnie. Snapped these while I was out and about.

Some new shots and some from the archive
This weekend I decided to take the camera out with me wherever I went in case I found something to shoot. I took a few shots out in Leeds as well as some from our wicked curry night on Sunday.

From the Archive
Over this same weekend, I was looking through my photos from the last year or so and found a few that I really liked but haven’t seen the light of day for some reason. Here they are for you all to see.

Playing with bubbles is fun when you have kittens. I find them quite hard to shoot though.

Dean Clough in the snow. I’ve taken similar shots of this mill in the past but this is the best one yet.

Halloween, 2010
My God-daughter’s birthday falls shortly after Halloween so she normally has a Halloween themed party. This year had a rocking cake and some cool costumes. I took loads of shots but I only want to have these two online.
